Centre for Educational Policy Studies (CEPS)

University of Ljubljana is a comprehensive university providing higher education and research in all areas according to ISCED and Frascati classification. It includes more than 63,000 graduate and postgraduate students and approximately 4000 higher education teachers employed in the 22 faculties, 3 arts academies and one university college.
Faculty of Education provides higher education and research in the area of education sciences and teacher education.  Faculty of Education provides undergraduate, Master and Doctoral studies in teacher education and education sciences.

CEPS – Centre for Educational Policy Studies is a R&D unit within the Faculty specialised in education policy. CEPS closely cooperates with other University departments from the broad field of social sciences.

Pavel Zgaga - Professor of the University of Ljubljana, Director of CEPS. Main fields of expertise: Philosophy of Education, Education Policy, Higher Education Studies. R&D work in these fields; in particularly on the Bologna Process, e.g. the BFUG General Rapporteur 2001-2003; member of the BFUG Board in 2004-2005; rapporteur of the Bologna External Dimension Working Group 2006-2007. Klemen Miklavič – is a full time researcher at Centre for Educational Policy Studies, University of Ljubljana. He obtained the university diploma, followed by the research degree in Social Sciences, both at the University of Ljubljana. His work has been dedicated to the field of higher education policy for more than seven years, dating back to student activism. After graduation he continued to work as consultant, expert or free lance researcher for a number of NGOs, intergovernmental organizations and research centres such as European Students’  Union, Spark, Council of Europe, Centre for Education Policy in Belgrade etc. During 2008 – 2009 he was employed at the OSCE Mission in Kosovo as a Senior Adviser responsible for Higher Education and ethnic minority issues. Ever since, he has continued to nurture his interests in the role of higher education in the (post)conflict settings.
