European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN)

EDEN is the most comprehensive European association in the field of open, flexible, distance and e-learning. Its aim is to foster developments in distance and eLearning through the provision of a platform for collaboration between a wide range of institutions, networks and individuals concerned with ODL and e-learning in Europe. This is done by the information and networking activities in the membership, by the organisation of European conferences and publications. The EDEN Membership consists of 194 institutional members and around 1100 individual members representing over 420 institutions from 58 countries. EDEN’s participation in EU programmes is focused on comprehensive strategic projects, in quality development, observatory, networking and knowledge base building, further supporting the implementation through networking, evaluation and dissemination of results.


Staff involved in the project:

Ildiko Mazar - graduated in 2002 as bio-engineer, and, in 2002 she completed a distance educational course entitled “Course development, learning management”. Since September 2002 she is obtaining her first job at the European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN) as Project Manager (earlier Project Co-ordinator). The language competence of Ms. Mázár includes English (fluent) and Dutch (basic).

Eva Szalma – graduated in 2000 as MA in Philosophy. From 2001 to 2003 she was consultant (later senior consultant) in learning development at Eduweb Multimedia Technology and Distance Learning Co. Since 2003 she works for the Budapest University of Technology and Economics as adult learning coordinator in the Centre for Learning Innovation and Adult Learning. Between 2006 and 2007 she was Membership Officer at the European Foundation for Quality in E-learning and since 2008 she works as Project Officer at EDEN. Her language command includes English (fluent) and Serbian (good).
