SCIENTER, Research and Innovation for training, was established in 1988 as a non-profit consortium organisation, and includes the Bologna University among its shareholders. During its 20 years of existence SCIENTER has become recognised as a leading European research centre in the field of Education and Training. Science’s areas of expertise include research and evaluation in the field of eLearning; innovation in learning processes using ICT; training of trainers & teachers in eLearning schemes; development of projects involving learning Regions; innovation in learning methodologie; analysis and evaluation of Education & Training policies; labour market and training/learning needs analysis. SCIENTER is a European research and innovation network, founding member of MENON Network EEIG and of European Quality foundation in eLearning (EFQUEL).

Staff involved in the project:

Claudio Dondi – Claudio Dondi is the President of SCIENTER. In this position his main activities are the co-ordination of large national and European projects, as well as policy advice and evaluation at regional, national and international level. His other positions include: Professor of Human Resource Development at the College of Europe in Bruges (1998-2003), Member of the Board of the MENON EEIG in Brussels, Member of the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Educational Technology, President of European Foundation for Quality in eLearning.

Anthony F. Camilleri – Has extensive expertise in policy development in the European educational fields, particularly in the fields of Higher Education, student and youth policy and educational innovation. Particular specialty is Quality Assurance, in terms of institutional review and review of ICT quality in education. Holds a magna cum laude degree at bachelors level in law from the University of Malta, as well as qualifications in notarial studies and pharmaceutical studies. At 27, has already designed and managed around 15 EU funded projects, as well as consulted on a range of studies in fields of specialty.

Daniela Proli (1984) got her Master Degree in Political Sciences from the University of Bologna in 2008. She then focused on social policy and welfare studies at European level, and also spent a period at the Utrecht University in order to broaden her knowledge in the field. In Scienter she is part of the Observatory area since 2008, contributing to several research and studies in the field of lifelong learning policy and of evolving scenarios of education and training in the knowledge society. Her main interest area concerns the development of the lifelong learning discourse and policy in the post-industrial society and its impact at social, political and institutional level.
