Earlier today, Anthony F. Camilleri presented the first results of the EQUNET project at the EUCEN conference being held in Lille, France. The conference theme is “From Rhetoric to Reality, The European Universties‘ Charter on LLL”. With this context, EQUNET presented its initial result, which especially make note that:
- Lifelong Learning is not living up to its potential in enhancing equity in education
- Access to Lifelong Learning is still marred by numerous barriers throughout Europe
In light with EQUNET’s commitment to dedicated an entire report (in year 3 of the project) to lifelong learning issues, the workshop was also an opportunity to brainstorm with lifelong learning professionals about what research questions should be addressed around this topic. The results of this discussion, will feed into the research plan for the third report, and be presented back to the conference in the future.
